Description
Headlight Brightness Management (Hardware & Key Input)
Whenever you drive against oncoming traffic, you can often see other drivers flashing their headlights. This script allows you to do the same in-game.
To achieve this functionality, the "B" red button on Microsoft controllers (Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Razer Sabertooth controllers, etc.) has been repurposed. This button was originally intended for the cinematic view while driving but is now used as a hold button for high beam lights.
Please note that low beams are now permanently enabled both during the day and night.
On the keyboard, the "G" button is used to activate high beams.
How to Install
- Download Script Hook V
- Unpack it into your GTA V root folder
- Place HighBeam Control.asi in your GTA V root folder
You're now ready to go!
How to Use
- Once you enter a vehicle, the lights will automatically turn on to low beams, even during daytime.
- Press your light switch ("Right Arrow" on controllers) once to enable the script.
- Press and hold "B" on controllers or "G" on keyboards to activate high beams. Release the button to return to low beams.
Currently, you cannot use the old headlight functions to keep them on (a fix is in progress).
Compatibility
This code does not work on any version of GTA V before 1.0.678.1 offline and 1.33 online.
The base function for this script, "set_high_beams", did not function as intended until the game was updated to 1.0.678.1. Please update your GTA V to the latest version before using this script.
Script Details
This script is different from my previous script, which only increased light brightness and was written in Lua. This version uses ASI.
Good luck and have fun!
