Gladius of Rome

"Gladius" means "sword" in the Latin language from the Gaulish word "Cladio." This type of sword came in various forms.

Secondly, it is characterized by a short length, typically ranging from 60 to 70 centimeters and weighing between 0.6 and 1.5 kilograms. It was favored by Roman legions from the 6th century BC onwards. This sword originated from the Celtiberian gladius (Hispanian swords).
