The SR-71A Blackbird: A Supersonic Legend

Known worldwide as the fastest "mass"-produced jet, even those outside of aviation circles recognize the SR-71. Developed by the USA, this reconnaissance aircraft was designed to penetrate enemy airspace at high altitudes and speeds, making it difficult for adversaries to detect or target. It officially served in the Air Force until 1990 (with a brief reactivation later and continued flights by NASA).

This version portrays the SR-71A (17972), currently on display at the Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C., and featured in Transformers 3. The SR-71B, a trainer variant, featured an elevated second cockpit instead of the photographer's station.

This mod is available as an Add-On and functions solely as such. A script for a working afterburner is included. Significantly faster than standard GTA V jets and more agile than its real-life counterpart (though making it turn like a brick was deemed too monotonous). Both the cockpit and rear station feature detailed panels. The rear wheels accurately depict heat-resistant tires, hence their grey/silver color. Rudders, elevators, and ailerons are fully operational, as are all landing gear components.
