Taming the Beast: Improving the BMW M3 GTR's Handling

As a big fan of Need for Speed - Most Wanted, I was excited to see the BMW M3 GTR available on this site. However, I was disappointed by its terrible handling. It was practically unusable. While there are two other handling mods available, they aren’t very good – one even reversed the traction values, resulting in more grip on dirt than pavement. This is my first GTA mod, although I have modded games like Fallout and Skyrim.

I spent approximately 7 hours fine-tuning the handling to make it feel balanced within GTA 5. It's not perfect, but it’s a significant improvement. I tested it on roads and off-road, at high speeds and low speeds, with and without upgrades. You can see a demonstration in the video.

Almost every value has been adjusted.

This mod requires the BMW M3 E46 GTR Addon, which you can find elsewhere.

You'll also need OpenIV.

Copy the handling.meta file from this download to: gamedirectory/update/x64/dlcpacks/Iverson/dlc.rpf/common/data

EXTRA:

If you want to tweak the settings yourself, open the .meta file in notepad. I used these two guides and wouldn't have been able to complete this mod without them.

UPDATE: HANDLING FIX .2.0

Minor adjustments have been made. Braking power has been reduced slightly so the car doesn’t stop abruptly. Engine power has been increased marginally for faster acceleration at the start.
