Add-On Car

Description

Renault 4 Mod: Add-on/Replacement with Level of Detail Models

The Renault 4, the first front-wheel drive family car produced by Renault between 1961 and 1994, sold over 8 million units in 30 years, making it the best-selling French car ever!

I downloaded many Renault 4 models but found them to be identical. They appeared in GTA SA, GTA4, "farming simulator", "city drive," and numerous other games. My desire for something unique led me to search further, ultimately discovering a bodyshell model on CGTrader (thanks to "lazaromartinezsanchez").

Since it was just the bodyshell, I had to create the remaining parts. While I could adapt some components like rear lights and engine from the "4L" model, most of it required original design work. This project served as valuable practice for my goal of building a car "from zero" next year.

Aiming to recreate the 1967-1974 R4 model, I meticulously crafted the grill, dashboard, steering wheel, heating console, old logos, and numerous other intricate details. It was a time-consuming process. While this might not be my best car mod for GTAV, it is undoubtedly the one I invested the most time in.

I also created font textures for license plates, but they are inverted, resulting in dark or yellow plates upon spawning. To reverse the colors, simply extract the "fonts2eu1" texture, invert it (white on black instead of black on white), and replace it. The plate shape matches those used by this car model, but the text is random. You can customize it. Recognizing that some players dislike non-San Andreas plates, I included original plates in both versions of the car. For the replacement version (Blista), a rear San Andreas plate is an extra feature, spawning with some cars over the vintage plate. You can add or remove it as desired. The front San Andreas plate for Blista can be attached to the bumper as a tuning part. The AddOn version has plates available as linked tuning parts through the front bumper.

Both versions of the car include an older bonnet (1961-67 model) as a tuning part. The AddOn version also features a functional towing hook as an extra, allowing you to tow a trailer. For Blista, the towing hook is a tuning part but lacks functionality, serving purely as decoration.

The mod incorporates breakable glass, dirt, dust, scratches, damage, and burnt effects. The inner glass does not turn black after upgrades, and all tested features function correctly. Forgive me if I have overlooked any details.
