Los Northrop F-5A/B Freedom Fighter y F-5E/F Tiger II son parte de una familia de aviones de combate supersonicos ligeros disenados y fabricados en Estados Unidos por Northrop desde principios de los anos 1960. A principios del siglo XXI, cientos de ellos aun continuan en servicio en las fuerzas aereas de diversos paises del mundo. El diseno del F-5 tambien ha servido como base para el desarrollo de otros aviones de su mismo tipo o variantes avanzadas.
