Essential Suspension Upgrade for the Legendary BMW M3 E46 GTR 5.0
HandlingDescription
Essential Suspension Upgrade for the Legendary BMW M3 E46 GTR
This handling edit is specifically designed for ANSWER's BMW M3 E46 GTR [Add-On]. Remember, there's no replace version available.
Revision V5 SystemSix
This upgrade aims to recapture the exhilarating top speed, acceleration, and handling the car had (or has) in the original NFS Most Wanted. The turning angle is set to 43 from 46, but the cornering and grip stability, especially at low to mid-high speeds on flat or moderately inclined roads, are among the best I've ever edited, tested, and driven.
While there's another handling edit available for this car, it tends to be overly responsive, making it prone to spinning out if you're not extremely cautious or attack corners too aggressively. Its acceleration is also excessively fast, and the suspension produces clunky noises even on smooth surfaces.
Changelog from V4
- - Drag increased from 1.8-1.9 to 2.0 to reflect the car's age (2001-2004).
- - Adjusted brake bias.
- - Further modified suspension values.
- - SteeringLock set to 43 to enhance current changes.
- - Rolled back rollcenter values slightly for a more street-like feel.
- - Increased tractioncurvemin to 5.0 to prevent spinning during braking.
- - Readjusted suspension force; some may find it too loose for a sports car.
- - Slightly lowered car acceleration as it was considered too fast by some.
- - Reversed vecCentreOfMassOffset values to original and fine-tuned suspension layouts instead, as these significantly impact the car during F1-style cornering.
- - Lowered the car slightly to decrease the center of gravity while minimizing asphalt contact.
- - Increased brake and handbrake values.
- - Rebalanced AntiRollBarForce value.
Handling Options Included:
- "mostwanted" - Primary file with revised V2 in a separate folder.
- "mostwanted2" - Faster acceleration but "shit" handling as a bonus.
- "LMP1-spec" - Increased downforce, antiroll, and significantly reduced suspension clunk.
- "addon" - Addon version for mod folder use.
Installation:
- Backup your original handling.meta file.
- Replace the handling.meta with the one provided in the package.
- Enjoy!
Notes:
- Tested gameplay using a 360 controller. Keyboard controls may not be as enjoyable due to their binary nature (0/100% turn and accel).
- For easier mod management and GTA Online safety, use the mod folder and addon version if possible.
