BMW 2002 Turbo: Modification Pack (Add-on/Replacement/Template with Level of Detail Models)

The BMW 02 Series, a range of compact executive cars produced by German automaker BMW between 1966 and 1977, was based on a shortened version of the New Class Sedans. The top model, 2002 Turbo, launched just before the 1973 oil crisis, resulted in only 1,672 units being built. This marked BMW's first turbocharged production car.

Available in only white and silver, the Add-On version of this car reflects that color scheme. While it spawns in those colors by default, you can respray it any color you desire. The car is designed as a multi-livery vehicle, but only one original livery is included. A template allows users to create more liveries without replacing the original. Simply add textures named "turbo_sign_2," "turbo_sign_3," "turbo_sign_4," and so on (the limit is uncertain, but you can create at least eight). The car will randomly spawn with different liveries. For the replace version, replacing "turbo_sign_1" will work; however, multi-livery functionality requires additional editing in "vehicles.meta" with the FLAG_HAS_LIVERY setting. To remove livery entirely, replace "turbo_sing_1" with the "blank.dds" texture. The side "Turbo" text is a separate mesh and can be recolored by replacing the "turbodecal" texture or made invisible using "blank.dds".

The car's handling is satisfactory; it's fast (reaching over 200 km/h) with accurate dials and stable performance. Some users may wish to adjust the "handling.meta" file for further refinement.

Testing various rear-wheel drive cars led to selecting "Casco" as the optimal replacement option. Adaptations were made specifically for Casco, so replacing other vehicles might not yield ideal results.

For replacing other cars, extracting files from the Add-on version is recommended. For instance, "Schwarzer" offers good handling but an incompatible driver position.

All glass, including the inner mirror and plate lights, breaks upon impact. Upgrading does not darken the interior glass. Dirt and burn mapping have been implemented.

The Add-on version includes modification options such as two exhaust variants and a cage upgrade. A linked mod allows for changing license plates to EU plates and old German oval export plates. Additional extras include three versions of the car with US plates, EU plates, and vintage plates; install the desired version.

To open the sunroof, open the rear left door, which will also activate the interior light.

Known bugs: "Casco" (replace version) cannot be washed in the car wash. Changing license plates on the Add-on version disables extras.
