Description
Exposed Rail Networks (LUA)
Update 1.1 introduced a delay in vehicle scanning to potentially prevent memory leaks.
This script allows trains to be destroyed like regular vehicles - they don't derail, but their explosions are visually satisfying.
Trains cannot be destroyed by bullets or melee attacks (this setting can be adjusted within the script). Although they theoretically sustain collision damage, they won't appear "destroyed" unless hit by an explosive. This behavior might be modified in the future if time permits.
Installation follows the standard procedure for most LUA scripts. Refer to the included readme file for detailed instructions.
Please note that this script has not undergone extensive testing, so some issues may arise. It's advisable to avoid missions involving trains while using this script. If any problems occur, please report them, and I will attempt to resolve them, though a guaranteed solution cannot be promised.
Regarding mod compatibility, it generally works with most train mods, but avoid those that provide trains with more than two engines. Train extenders function correctly as long as the train has a single engine. For a more comprehensive explanation, consult the readme file.
Credit is given to headscript for the original Train Driver script, from which this script borrows a few lines of code.
