Dynamic Balance & Steering Control 1.3

.Net Vehicles Open Source

Description

Dynamic Balance & Steering Control

This open-source vehicle mod aims to replicate the Weight Transfer feature from Midnight Club 2.

Changelog

1.0

First release. Future updates will focus on reducing glitchy turning.

1.1

Fixed glitchy turning and added an .ini file for configuring toggle keys, Hydraulic Speed (how fast your vehicle shifts weight), and Turning Radius (how sharp your vehicle turns when weight shifting). Improved overall fluidity.

1.2

Introduced two configurable turning radiuses: a default radius and one activated while holding the handbrake. Enables both slight and sharp turns for maneuvering through tight spaces or performing perpendicular turns to evade police. Added the option to disable the mod by default and fixed motorcycle wheelie functionality (broken in 1.1).

1.3

Significantly improved motorcycle wheelie stability, minimizing glitches. Included two new videos demonstrating the mod's operation with Motorcycles and 4-wheel vehicles. By default, the mod is enabled. Toggle it off using CTRL + C or configure the ini file to keep it disabled by default.

Keyboard Controls

While pressing the gas (W):
  • Hold Left Click or Enter, then press Q to shift left.
  • Hold Left Click or Enter, then press E to shift right.
  • Maintain gas (W) pressure to hold the weight. Press Shift for a boost.
  • Use A and D keys for regular turning. Holding Spacebar allows for sharper turns.

Gamepad Controls

While pressing the gas (RT on Xbox):
  • Hold Handbrake, then press the "Next Weapon" button (X on Xbox) to weight shift left.
  • Hold Handbrake, then press the "Cinematic View" button (B on Xbox) to weight shift right.
  • Maintain gas pressure to hold the weight. Push forward on the Left Stick for a boost.
Use the Left Stick for regular turning. Holding Handbrake enables sharper turns.

Tips

  • You need to be traveling at least 25 km/h (16 mph) to initiate weight shifting.
  • Excessive speed loss during weight shifting can lead to imbalance.
  • Excessively elevating your vehicle off the ground will cause imbalance. For example, ascending or descending steep roads too quickly.
  • Larger vehicles are more susceptible to imbalance. Commercial Class vehicles cannot turn while weight shifting.
  • Motorcycles will perform a wheelie instead.
  • Weight shifting on uneven surfaces may encounter bugs.
  • Increasing "Turning Radius when Handbraking" can significantly enhance the fun factor!
