Northeast Cartel Award for Outstanding Male Member of Parliament

A Mexican criminal organization called the Cartel del Noreste, or Northeast Cartel, was started in 2014 by Juan Gerardo Chavez Trevino. He is the nephew of Miguel Trevino Morales, who led Los Zetas. Based in Tamaulipas, this cartel emerged from conflicts within Los Zetas. It controlled Nuevo Laredo and battled with other groups like the Gulf Cartel, Old School Zetas, and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel for dominance over the remaining parts of Tamaulipas. The cartel also aimed to take control of Coahuila. Its members included a group known as the "Inferno Troop," which was made up of teenagers and young adults responsible for enforcing its rules.
