The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is a United States federal law enforcement agency under the US Department of Justice. Its mission is to combat drug smuggling and use within the United States. The DEA leads domestic enforcement of the Controlled Substances Act, sharing this responsibility with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security, and the US Border Patrol. It is solely responsible for coordinating and pursuing U.S. drug investigations both domestically and internationally.
