Darko Brevic Character Mod for GTA IV

Darko Brevic (Serbian: Дарко Бревић, Darko Brević) is a central character and the overarching antagonist in Grand Theft Auto IV. Voiced by Michael Medeiros, he grew up alongside Niko Bellic and Florian Cravic in Yugoslavia. They served together in a squad during the Yugoslav wars. However, Darko developed a drug addiction and betrayed the squad for $1,000. This betrayal led to an ambush resulting in the deaths of twelve out of fifteen squad members. Only Darko, Niko, and Florian survived.

Darko fled the country soon after. Rumors spread that he had escaped to Switzerland. After a series of missions, one of Niko's contacts at the United Liberty Paper agency locates Darko in Bucharest, Romania. Darko is kidnapped and smuggled to Liberty City, where Niko confronts him.

Darko admits his betrayal but reminds Niko that their squad was not innocent, having committed atrocities against civilians. This disillusionment led him to betray his comrades for a paltry sum. Niko is horrified by the revelation, while Darko questions Niko's own morality given his actions in the game. He begs Niko to kill him, stating it would be a mercy.

The player then decides Darko's fate. Sparing him allows Niko to finally let go of his desire for revenge. Killing him involves shooting Darko twelve times – one for each lost comrade.

Description

Darko is designed to be hated due to his backstory, which fuels Niko's quest for vengeance. His betrayal led to the death of many of Niko's friends for a meager sum. This mod includes all of Darko's texture variations, including the ones used in the alternate cutscene where Niko kills him. He also has facial animations compatible with GTA V's base NPC models, although he lacks cutscene-specific facial animations. Using a mod called Character Swap is recommended if you want to use Darko in missions or cutscenes.

Installation

• Add the four files "ig_darko" to the addon peds pack. Follow this route: Grand Theft Auto V \ mods \ update \ x64 \ dlcpacks \ addonpeds \ dlc.rpf \ peds.rpf \, or rename the ped (e.g., "ig_barry") to replace an existing model.
