Barbie-Inspired Ralph Lauren Polo for MP Men

The stereotype of Mexican drug traffickers dressed in flashy cowboy attire and jewelry is fading, as younger generations embrace more subtle fashion trends from designer brands.

Last year, three alleged drug traffickers, including Edgar Valdez ("La Barbie") and Jose Jorge Balderas ("El JJ"), were shown on television during their arrests wearing Ralph Lauren polo shirts. This is standard practice in Mexico.

"That's what they were wearing when we apprehended them," said an officer involved in the operations that led to the suspects' unexpected fashion statements.
