F-5E Fighter Jet Color Schemes: Malaysia, Thailand, South Vietnam & USAF
A Malaysian livery has been added for the F-5E. The color scheme closely resembles the initial Adversary scheme; the colors were simply brightened, and appropriate markings were applied.
For The GTAV F-5E (Malaysia Livery added)
This livery is available at a modding website.
Once installed according to their instructions, open the dlc.rpf with OpenIV.
Overwriting the File:
Follow this path to overwrite the file:
...GTAV/mods/update/x64/dlcpacks/f5adv/dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf/f5adv.ytd
Preserving the Original Livery:
If you want to keep the original livery, extract the 'f5adv.ytd' file in OpenIV. Typically, I extract the original .ytd to the same folder as the dlc.rpf and rename it to 'orig_f5adv.ytd'.
Applying Other Liveries:
To overwrite with other A-4 liveries, toggle "Edit mode" (top right button) in OpenIV, and drag the 'f5adv.ytd' from the extracted zip file to:
...GTAV/mods/update/x64/dlcpacks/f5adv/dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf/f5adv.ytd
Confirming the Livery:
To confirm the livery, click on the 'f5adv.yft' or 'f5adv_hi.yft' file to open the OpenIV Model Viewer and see how the model will look with the new livery.
Once satisfied, close the model viewer, launch GTAV, and spawn 'f5adv' using your preferred trainer.
Understanding Livery Mechanics:
Each .ytd file in the folders has the named livery as 'f5adv_texture' within the .ytd file. I couldn't figure out how to add livery support to a model that doesn't already have it. Each .ytd file contains all the liveries. If you rename the current 'f5adv_texture' to something else, and then rename 'f5adv_texture_sign_x' to 'f5adv_texture', the presented paint scheme will change.
If anyone can figure out how to add livery support, you have my permission to use my 'f5adv_texture' files.
Enjoy!
