C-17 Globemaster III Paint Schemes: Kuwait & Standard Designs
This provides livery options for a Kuwait C-17 and a no-marking livery. Keep in mind that the available C-17 model doesn't have a single sign file for the entire aircraft. The fuselage sign files are separate, while the wing .dds files include embedded USAF markings.
These instructions apply to the Boeing C-17 found in the ZF1 pack and the WarpackUSA Pack:
- C-17 in the 140 add-on planes compilation
- C-17 in WarpackUSA
After installing these packs according to their instructions, open the dlc.rpf with OpenIV.
Follow this path to overwrite the file:
- ...GTAV/mods/update/x64/dlcpacks/ZF1/dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf/globe.ytd
- or
- ...GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\warpackusa\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles\vehicles.rpf\globe.ytd
To keep the original liveries, extract the ch130.ytd file using OpenIV while in the appropriate folder. Typically, I extract the .ytd to the same folder as the dlc.rpf and rename it to origglobe.ytd.
...GTAV/mods/update/x64/dlcpacks/ZF1/dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf/ch130.ytd
Confirm the livery by clicking on globe.yft or globe_hi.yft in OpenIV's Model Viewer to see how the model will look with the new livery.
Once satisfied, close the model viewer and run GTAV, spawning the globe using your preferred trainer.
To create your own paint schemes, I've included original C-17 .dds files (as a reference for placing roundels, etc.) along with the .dds files I created.
Feel free to use this as a base for creating liveries for the IAF, RAF, RAAF, RCAF, and others.
