Buzzard In-Game Skins Get a Fresh Coat of Paint

This update provides new paint options for the in-game Attack Buzzard. Please note that these changes will apply to all buzzards, including those spawned naturally.

Available liveries include: US Army 1st Air Cav, Afghanistan, Argentina, Chile, Columbia, Croatia, Denmark, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, 'Escape From New York', Finland, Guinea, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, and Turkey.

To overwrite the existing buzzard skin files, follow these paths:

• ...\GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday3ng\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf\buzzard.ytd
• ...\GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday3ng\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf\buzzard+hi.ytd

If you wish to preserve the original buzzard paint, extract the "buzzard.ytd" file using OpenIV and rename it to something like "orig_buzzard.ytd". Place this copy in the same folder as the dlc.rpf.

To apply a new livery:

1. Enable "Edit mode" in OpenIV.
2. Select "buzzard.ytd" and right-click to choose "Replace".
3. Choose the desired buzzard.ytd file from the extracted zip archive.

Once the new .ytd is in place, open it with OpenIV. Rename "buzzard_livery" to something like "buzzard_livery_orig". Then rename your chosen livery file (e.g., "buzzard_livery1stAirCav") to "buzzard_livery".

Confirm the new livery by opening the "buzzard+hi.yft" or "buzzard.yft" file in OpenIV's Model Viewer.

Repeat these steps for:

• ...\GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday3ng\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf\buzzard+hi.ytd

Spawn a buzzard using your preferred trainer to see the updated livery.

Remember, if you encounter any issues with the patchday3ng file, you can always copy the original dlc file and overwrite the one in your mod folder. However, note that this might remove other mods already installed within the patchday3ng file.

A GIMP .XCF file containing the roundels and other design elements is included for those who wish to create their own modifications based on this work.
