Instantaneous Vision v1.4

Road Nature Graphics Environment Config

Description

Instantaneous Vision

This mod eliminates the screen dimming or flickering effect that occurs when passing near light sources in the game. It achieves this by disabling the eye adaptation effect, which is responsible for the screen dimming.

Replacing your visualsettings file with the one provided not only removes eye adaptation and flickering but also enhances the brightness of emergency lights.

The first screenshot demonstrates standing directly beneath a street light. Typically, this would cause the screen to darken as you drive past it before returning to normal. However, with this mod, passing by any light source, such as a streetlight or traffic signal, will not result in dimming, creating a more realistic and less bothersome experience while removing Rockstar's visual intrusion.

Version 1.4 completely reworked the mod. The visualsettings file has been updated to the latest version, ensuring compatibility unlike the previous version which is now provided as a last resort if the new update encounters issues. Installation instructions for the updated file are available in the READVERYIMPORTANT txt file.

Version 1.3 added a secondary fix if the initial solution doesn't work. This fix can be found at the bottom of the "How to install" txt file.

Version 1.2** is a crucial update that corrects inaccurate values in the visualsettings.dat file from the readme. Please download Version 1.2!

Requirements

  • OpenIV

Installation Instructions

  1. Extract the zip file after downloading.
  2. Open OpenIV.
  3. Navigate to \update\update.rpf\common\data\ in OpenIV.
  4. Click "Edit mode" at the top right.
  5. Select "Copy to mods folder".
  6. Scroll down until you find visualsettings.dat.
  7. Right-click on it and select "save content/export". Save this file to your desktop (if encountering issues, create a new folder on your desktop and save the content there. This backs up the old file in case of any problems).
