Route Optimization Strategies for Long-Cruising and Beyond
This project focuses on creating optimized driving paths within the game, building upon dexyfex's initial work. Credit and thanks go to dexyfex for laying the groundwork. The primary focus is currently Liberty City with plans to extend to Vice City.
Progress Update:
- Liberty City (LC): 35% of street paths completed.
- Vice City (VC): 5% of street paths completed.
Version History:
- ver. 0.0: Added initial 1-2 blocks, functioning correctly.
- ver. 0.1: Continued progress with visual updates (highways not yet included).
- ver. 0.2: Further progress and cleanup, addressed double nodes issue (see 2nd screenshot).
- ver. 0.2.1: All created paths are now interconnected and fully functional. Extensive testing (15-minute police chase, 10-minute drive) revealed no crashes or issues.
- ver. 0.2.3: Ongoing progress and fixes.
- ver. 0.2.4: LC street path progress now at 35% complete.
Future plans include completing the remaining paths in Liberty City and Vice City.
Installation Instructions:
- The "nodes907.ynd" file is specifically for Liberty City.
- Place these files into the following directory using OpenIV: mods/update/update.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/paths.rpf. These are new files and do not replace existing ones. No further installation steps are required.
- Ynd files were created using CodeWalker.
